The iOS operating system is a technological marvel. However, it is designed for short-lived interactions with applications, with users dashing in and out of applications. Applications such as the Spectre Player can stay open indefinitely, but some care must go in how the system is configured to make that possible. Otherwise, the operating system will eventually force the app to shut down.

To prevent the operating system from terminating the Spectre Player :

  • Make sure the app is installed on a supported device

  • Make sure your device uses an up-to-date version of iOS (How to update your device).

  • Disable auto-lock. To disable Auto-lock, launch Settings from the Home screen, tap on Display & Brightness, tap on Auto Lock, tap on the Never option.

  • Keep the Spectre Player app on-screen.
